Brown Trout River of Excellence 2010

Season opens Tuesday 17th March 2015 St, Patricks Day for Trout & Salmon

Cahir & District Anglers Association are over 80 years old and considered one of the best brown trout rivers in Europe. The Cahir club take pride in all aspects of there club with over 12 miles of the best fishing on the River Suir and River Aherlow. Been given Brown Trout Centre of excellence status in 2010.

The club has continuous development/ throughout the year , which has been happening here over the past 40 years.  

Cahir Anglers have hosted in the past an all Ireland/ Munster Senior/Juvenile championship on our waters.  

The club has over 7 of its Members who represented Ireland in World / European/ Home countries internationals.

Two of our Members have wrote books on Angling on the suir referring to Cahir in particular on all aspects of wild brown trout fishing; A Passion For Trout by Michael O Farrell, River Suir - A Blue Riband by John Lalor.
